Welcome to the Musculoskeletal Research Laboratories

We are a group of scientists, engineers, and programmers using and developing experimental and computational methods in the fields of biomechanics, biochemistry, and imaging to address research questions in the areas of orthopedics, angiogenesis, and cardiac mechanics.  Under the direction of Jeffrey A. Weiss, the MRL has been producing quality research and educating bioengineering students at the University of Utah since 2000.

Our research approach is to use multidisciplinary techniques and a combination of experimental and computational methods to answer questions and solve problems that could not be addressed otherwise.  Due to our approach to research, students at the MRL learn both experimental and computational methods from multiple fields to address questions in their desired area of study.
